PCMag.com Names Panasonic’s Toughpad FZ-G1 the Editors’ Choice for Rugged Tablets

Following the release of our new Docking Station for the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-G1, we started seeing this PCMag.com review of the FZ-G1 pop up all over social media sites such as LinkedIn. The review names the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-G1 as the Editors Choice for rugged tablets, and applauds it for combining solid performance with extreme durability.PCMag.com describes the tablet as light and slim with a great display that combines high-resolution, adjustable brightness and capacitive touch. In addition to its multi-touch display, the tablet includes a Wacom digitizer to allow for the use of a stylus.

While the Toughpad FZ-G1 only offers one USB port, users have the option of an additional USB module. Users can also gain a second port with the Havis Docking Station for the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-G1, which provides full port replication with two fully-powered USB 3.0 ports and one each of power, Ethernet, video, serial and HDMI.

The review also points out that this tablet is intended for rugged work environments, rather than for consumer use. The Panasonic Toughpad FZ-G1 was built for use in public safety, the military, public works and utilities, warehouses and many other demanding workspaces.

For those in need of equally rugged mounting for this tablet, the Havis Docking Station for the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-G1 is a fully compatible, Toughbook Certified solution that was tested against the industry’s toughest safety and quality standards. Havis’ rigorous testing includes 30-mph crash simulations with forward, rearward and side impacts, military-grade vibration testing, and extensive cycle testing on the latch handle and docking connector’s mechanism.
